Here we are, dorking out for Bookweek again! This year, miss decided she wanted to be a mermaid - because seriously! What tween doesn't?! So we decided to do our take on The Little Mermaid - but a more whimsical Hans Christian Anderson style instead of the Disney version. And her trusty companion Sebastian the crab of course!
Reminiscing about bygone bookweeks. It's that time of year again. Book weeks here. Hot mess mums be late night sipping wine and sewing costumes. Mine often like to go as a pair in the parade, it's their thing. Well Indigo's thing, she calls Fletch her secret weapon for bookweek, maximum points for accessorising with a little brother for extra cuteness. And Fletch has always loved to get involved and feels pretty special being part of the parade, next year he'll be in big school himself so he won't get to be his sister's accessory for the actual parade, they'll be at different times. But it's got me all nostalgic flicking back through my instagram hashtags of all their past costumes, loving all the sweet sibling love moments caught in time. Here's an old favourite from last year, Bambi & Thumper.
Sometimes we need reminding to stop and enjoy those little moments.... a cuddle on the lounge, morning chat at breakfast, singing in the car.... At least I do as I often rush through the day.
This is a little corner in the store. The storage bag is from NZ Henry and Co. Only a couple left low, they have been so popular!
